Halluminate has raised $30 million in Series A funding led by Oak HC/FT, with participation from Y Combinator, Orange Collective, FT Partners and Heavybit. The financing brings the San Francisco-based AI startup’s total capital raised to $38.5 million.

Founded in 2024 by Jerry Wu and Wyatt Marshall, Halluminate develops benchmarks and reinforcement-learning environments designed to train and evaluate AI agents performing complex knowledge-work tasks. Wu serves as CEO and Marshall as CTO. The company participated in Y Combinator’s Summer 2025 batch. Y

Halluminate’s initial focus is financial services and consulting. Its systems create simulated environments in which AI agents can perform workflows such as investment banking, private equity and other financial-services tasks, allowing models to be evaluated and trained on multi-step professional work.

The company has also developed the Westworld Finance Diligence Bench, an evaluation framework covering 88 problems based on anonymized private-equity transactions. The benchmark tests AI agents across a complete company acquisition due-diligence process and evaluates their performance on extended, multi-step tasks.

Halluminate said the new Series A follows a period in which it expanded its reinforcement-learning environment work with major US AI labs. Oak HC/FT said Halluminate is building simulated environments intended to train AI agents to complete financial-services workflows involving activities such as reviewing data rooms, building financial models and producing professional deliverables.
