The Zurich biotechnology startup is developing a multi-target pan-amyloid therapeutic for Alzheimer’s disease, with its latest Venture Kick milestone adding Stage III support for company building and preclinical development.
PANDA Therapeutics has reached CHF 150,000 in cumulative support from Venture Kick after completing Stage III of the Swiss startup funding program.
Venture Kick announced the milestone on August 31, 2026, saying the biotechnology startup will use the support to establish its operational foundation, develop a scientific and clinical advisory board, prepare its chemistry, manufacturing and controls strategy, advance intellectual property and regulatory planning, and strengthen engagement with prospective investors and pharmaceutical partners.
The CHF 150,000 figure represents the full amount available through Venture Kick’s three core funding stages rather than a new standalone CHF 150,000 financing round.
Under Venture Kick’s current financing model, Stage I provides a CHF 10,000 grant, Stage II provides a CHF 40,000 convertible loan and Stage III provides a CHF 100,000 convertible loan. The two convertible loans convert under the program’s terms at a subsequent qualifying investment round.
PANDA had previously received CHF 40,000 in Venture Kick Stage II funding on March 27, 2026. At that point, the project was in the final prototyping phase and preparing to begin lead optimization, with the Stage II capital intended to support proof-of-concept validation and intellectual-property work.
The startup is developing a pan-amyloid therapeutic approach for diseases involving abnormal protein deposits. Its initial program focuses on Alzheimer’s disease and is designed to target multiple pathological protein aggregates with a single therapy rather than focusing exclusively on one protein.
The scientific project predates PANDA’s current company-building work. University of Zurich records identify Hui Zhang as a BioTech Entrepreneur Fellow for 2024-2026 and describe her project as a “pan-amyloid bi-functional molecule” for neurodegenerative diseases. The UZH project focuses on targeting multiple pathological amyloid aggregates associated with protein-misfolding disorders.
PANDA remains at a preclinical development stage. Its therapeutic is designed to interfere with multiple harmful protein deposits and support their clearance, but these intended therapeutic effects have not been established through human clinical development.
Hui Zhang serves as PANDA Therapeutics’ CEO. Tech.eu has also identified Zhang as the startup’s founder, although Bipsiq could not independently verify the company’s legal incorporation details or a standalone official company website.
The company expects future development to involve pharmaceutical and biotechnology partners through licensing, co-development or commercialisation arrangements. Venture Kick’s Stage III support is intended to help PANDA prepare its operational, manufacturing, regulatory and business-development infrastructure for those later development stages.
