Blog UroGen Pharma to Invest Up to $7 Million in IntraGel Therapeutics

The equity investment is tied to an oncology research and licensing agreement covering IntraGel’s TumoCure candidate and its SRGel sustained-release drug-delivery platform.

UroGen Pharma Ltd. has agreed to invest up to $7 million in IntraGel Therapeutics Ltd., an Israel-based biotechnology company developing sustained-release drug-delivery technology.

The companies entered into the investment agreement on August 18, 2026. According to a UroGen filing with the US Securities and Exchange Commission, the investment will be made in IntraGel equity securities. The filing does not disclose the resulting ownership stake or a valuation for IntraGel.

The investment accompanies an Option and Research License Agreement between IntraGel and UroGen Pharma, Inc., UroGen’s wholly owned US subsidiary. Under the agreement, UroGen received an exclusive option to obtain worldwide rights to develop and commercialize TumoCure after IntraGel completes a Phase 2 clinical study. UroGen also received a research licence for the SRGel platform and options covering up to three additional oncology products combining SRGel with compounds selected by UroGen.

IntraGel said the investment is intended to support the next stage of clinical development for TumoCure. The investigational treatment combines cisplatin with IntraGel’s SRGel biodegradable formulation and is designed to provide sustained delivery of the drug directly within tumor tissue. The companies describe TumoCure as Phase 2-ready.

TumoCure has previously been studied in a Phase I/Ib program for patients with advanced head and neck cancer. An abstract presented through the 2026 American Society of Clinical Oncology Annual Meeting reported data from eight treated patients and evaluated safety, tolerability, pharmacokinetics and early signs of local activity. Given the study’s small, early-stage population, those results do not establish clinical efficacy.

IntraGel operates from the NGT3 technology incubator in Nazareth, Israel. The company is led by CEO and co-founder Peter Siman and develops SRGel as a long-acting injectable platform for controlled release of small molecules, peptides and biologics. Its technology originated from research associated with scientific founder Avi Domb.

UroGen is a Nasdaq-listed biotechnology company headquartered operationally in Princeton, New Jersey, focused on localized therapies for urothelial and other specialty cancers.
