Singapore-based semiconductor startup Nexstrom has raised $12 million in seed funding led by Xora Innovation, with participation from Foothill Ventures and SEEDS, an investment arm of SG Growth Capital. The financing brings the company’s total capital raised to $15 million, including $3 million in non-dilutive funding disclosed by Nexstrom.
Founded in 2024, Nexstrom is developing wafer-scale two-dimensional semiconductor materials for advanced chip manufacturing. The company is led by Co-Founder and CEO Dr. Phoebe Tan and Co-Founder and Chief Scientist Dr. Lain-Jong Li. Its platform combines chemical vapor deposition hardware, process technology and wafer-scale 2D material growth for integration into semiconductor foundry workflows.
Nexstrom has developed a 12-inch-capable growth platform for single-crystal 2D semiconductor materials. At the time of the funding announcement, the company said it had scaled its material growth process from 2-inch to 6-inch wafers and was working toward larger wafer demonstrations and commercial foundry validation.
The new funding will be used to advance commercialization and platform development, support validation and strategic collaborations with semiconductor foundries, and expand Nexstrom’s engineering and leadership teams.
