London-headquartered power-grid technology company Reactive Technologies has secured €19 million in venture debt financing from the European Investment Bank to support further development and deployment of its grid-monitoring technology across Europe. The EIB announced the financing on September 23, 2026.
The financing will support Reactive Technologies’ GridVerix platform, which provides real-time measurements of power-system stability indicators including grid inertia, system strength and voltage stability. The technology is designed to give grid operators greater visibility into network conditions as electricity systems integrate more wind and solar generation and connect large electricity users such as data centres.
Of the €19 million EIB loan, up to €7 million will support research and development activities at Reactive Technologies’ centre in Oulu, Finland. The remaining €12 million will support deployment of the company’s technology across the European Union. The financing is backed by the InvestEU programme and contributes to TechEU, the EIB Group initiative supporting investment in strategic technologies.
Reactive Technologies was founded in the UK and Finland in 2010 and is headquartered in London. Co-founder and CEO Marc Borrett leads the company, which works with grid operators, utilities and other energy-sector organisations using measurement and data technology to monitor grid stability and reliability.
The company previously raised £25 million in a Series D funding round announced in May 2024. That round was led by M&G’s Catalyst strategy alongside BGF and Breakthrough Energy Ventures and was intended to support international expansion and hiring
