Quartermaster has secured $140 million in new financing, comprising a $100 million Series B led by Insight Partners and a separate $40 million venture debt facility from Stifel. Overmatch Ventures participated in the equity round alongside returning investors First Round Capital, Quiet Capital, Steel Atlas and TMV.
Founded in 2023 and based in Arlington, Virginia, Quartermaster is led by founder and CEO Neil Sobin. The company develops SmartMast, a vessel-mounted sensing platform that uses cameras, radios and onboard technology to turn ocean-going vessels into nodes in a distributed maritime data network. The system is designed to provide real-time visibility into maritime activity.
At the time of the financing announcement, Quartermaster said its network included more than 650 vessels across 25 countries. The company plans to use the new capital to expand its engineering team and add more vessels to its network, increasing coverage across commercial shipping lanes and fishing grounds.
The financing follows Quartermaster’s $43 million Series A announced in May 2026, which was co-led by First Round Capital and Quiet Capital.
