Flexcompute, a US-based AI and engineering simulation company, has secured a strategic investment from Samsung Ventures and Applied Ventures, the venture capital arm of Applied Materials, alongside other investors. Announced on October 12, 2026, the investment’s financial terms were not disclosed.

Founded in 2016, Flexcompute develops GPU-native simulation technology that enables engineers to assess how products and physical systems behave before manufacturing. Its simulation capabilities cover fluid dynamics, electromagnetics, structural mechanics and thermal analysis. Vera Yang serves as the company’s co-founder and president.

The company is developing its Physics World Model, an AI system that combines neural networks with first-principles physics to evaluate engineering designs under real-world conditions. Through an approach called Tokenized Physics, Flexcompute integrates physical laws into AI-driven simulations to support the evaluation and optimisation of complex designs.

Engineers and AI agents can access the system through Physics Twins, digital models of physical products that allow designs to be tested and refined before physical prototypes are built. Flexcompute says its technology is used by engineering teams at more than 250 companies across industries including aerospace, automotive, semiconductors, photonics and advanced manufacturing.

The new investment will support the expansion of Flexcompute’s research team, additional GPU computing capacity and further development of its Physics World Model. The company plans to extend its capabilities across fluid dynamics, electromagnetics, structural analysis, thermal systems and interactions between multiple physical processes.

Flexcompute previously raised $22 million in Series B funding in November 2021. That round was led by Coatue Management, with participation from GGV Capital, 3W Investment, WI Harper, River Delta and other investors.
