BQP has received a strategic investment from IBM Ventures, the venture capital arm of IBM, bringing the quantum software company’s total funding to $8 million. The amount of the investment was not disclosed. Venn10 Capital and existing investor Monta Vista Capital also participated.

Headquartered in Syracuse, New York, BQP was founded in 2020 and was formerly known as BosonQ Psi. Its leadership includes founder and CEO Abhishek Chopra, founder and CTO Rut Lineswala, and founder and COO Jash Minocha.

BQP develops BQPhy, a physics acceleration platform designed to speed up engineering, optimization and physics-based computational workloads. The platform integrates with environments including MATLAB, Python and Julia. Its QuantumNOW solver runs on existing CPU and GPU infrastructure, while QuantumMAX, a quantum-native solver architecture, remains in development.

The company plans to use the new capital to expand BQPhy from engineering design applications into operational deployments and broaden its go-to-market activity beyond aerospace and defense. IBM Ventures said BQP is developing a software layer intended to improve the use of existing high-performance computing infrastructure while providing a path toward hybrid quantum-classical computing.

BQP previously raised a $4.9 million seed round in July 2025 to expand BQPhy across mission-critical industries. The company said that since that round, its contracted and committed revenue has increased eightfold, its customer base has tripled and platform users have increased twentyfold.
