San Francisco-based empirik.ai has raised $21 million in seed funding from Sequoia Capital, S32, Canapi Ventures and Alumni Ventures as the infrastructure AI startup emerges from stealth. The company announced the financing on September 1, 2026.
empirik.ai was incubated at Sequoia Capital in 2023 by co-founders Avon Puri and Sudheer Dhurjati. The company is led by CEO Kartik Chandrayana, who joined in 2026. Its official company information lists San Francisco as its headquarters, with an office in Bangalore, India.
The startup is developing an AI-based autonomous infrastructure engineer designed to help enterprises assess infrastructure changes before they are executed. Its platform captures the intent behind a proposed change, builds a live model across cloud, on-premise and SaaS environments, evaluates dependencies and potential impact, and determines whether a change can proceed automatically or requires human review.
The company says its technology is already being used in production environments including Guardant Health, Avahi and TCBPay, along with teams at Fortune 500 companies.
