Medellín-based fintech Plenti has secured $3 million in seed funding led by Tether to strengthen its Colombian operations and expand into Peru and Bolivia.

Plenti, a Medellín-based fintech, has raised $3 million in a seed funding round led by Tether, with participation from Verda Ventures. The financing will support the company’s operations in Colombia and its planned expansion into Peru and Bolivia.

Founded by Sebastián Correa, Nicolás Zuleta and Martín Peláez, Plenti provides financial services for individuals and businesses through a multicurrency platform. The company is headquartered in Medellín, Colombia.

Plenti allows users to receive, hold and transfer funds in currencies including US dollars, euros and Colombian pesos. Its services also include international transfers, multicurrency payment capabilities and access to investments such as fractional US-listed stocks, exchange-traded funds, digital gold and crypto assets.

The company reports more than 150,000 active users and annual transaction volume exceeding $3.1 billion across its B2B and B2C operations.
