London-based energy software startup Metris has raised $5 million in a seed funding round co-led by PT1 Ventures, Octopus Ventures, AENU and Blackfinch Ventures. Plug and Play and Love Ventures also participated in the round.
Metris builds software for owners and operators of energy assets. Its platform combines data from systems including meters, inverters, SCADA, GIS and energy markets into a unified data layer, giving operators a consolidated view of asset performance, revenue and operations.
The company was co-founded by Natasha Jones and William W. Whatley. Its headquarters are in London.
Metris said its platform now supports more than 10,000 solar projects and approximately 500 MW of capacity. Alongside the fundraising, the company launched Metria AI, an interface designed to handle operational tasks including portfolio queries, report generation and fault triage.
The new capital will support further development of Metris’ agentic capabilities and expansion of the platform beyond solar into wind and combined heat and power systems. The company also plans to expand across Europe, with Germany among its focus markets.
The round brings Metris’ total funding to $7.5 million. The company previously secured a pre-seed round backed by Octopus Ventures and AENU.
