Clastix, a Naples-based Kubernetes infrastructure software company, has raised €2.9 million in a seed funding round led by CDP Venture Capital SGR. Mistral and Vertis SGR participated as co-investors, with Vertis investing through its Vertis Venture 6 Digital Sud fund. The financing is Clastix’s first external funding round.
Founded in 2020 by Adriano Pezzuto and Dario Tranchitella, Clastix develops infrastructure technology for organisations operating Kubernetes environments at scale. Its open-source Kamaji project provides hosted Kubernetes control planes, while kMetal is the company’s commercial platform for fleet management, governance and production operations. Kamaji is maintained under the Apache 2.0 licence.
Clastix plans to use the funding to expand its team and further develop its Kubernetes infrastructure platform. The investment will support product development, customer success, solutions engineering and go-to-market expansion, with the company also planning additional research and development for infrastructure supporting AI-scale workloads.
The company said its technology is already used in production environments across AI, telecommunications, cloud services and the public sector. Mistral, which participated in the round, also uses Clastix technology for Kubernetes infrastructure supporting its AI training and inference workloads.
