London-based fundraising technology company Givestar has raised $12 million in growth funding led by Mercia Ventures, with participation from Benefact Group and Love Ventures. The investment will support the company’s expansion in the UK and US, alongside product development and team growth.

Founded in 2018 by Tom Montague and Alexander Coleridge, Givestar develops technology for digital and contactless charitable fundraising. Its platform connects charities, fundraisers, donors and events, while its Tap to Donate feature allows fundraisers to accept contactless donations using smartphones.

The company said more than $70 million has been given through its platform, which has more than 800,000 registered users and has supported over 4,000 charities. Givestar is also expanding its role in mass-participation fundraising through event partnerships in the UK and US.

In 2024, Givestar announced a £2.1 million investment round that included Love Ventures, Benefact Group and investor Julius Dein.
