Eureka! Venture SGR has launched Eureka! Fund II – Deep Tech Lazio, a venture capital fund focused on deep tech and STEP technologies, with a first close of approximately €20 million. Lazio Innova is participating as anchor investor with a €16 million commitment, alongside private and institutional investors.

The fund was established under Lazio Venture 2, an initiative promoted by the Lazio Region through the PR FESR 2021-2027 programme and managed by Lazio Innova. Its investment strategy is focused on technology transfer, industrial validation, industrialisation and the growth of technology-intensive businesses.

Eureka! Fund II will invest in spin-offs, startups and innovative SMEs developing proprietary technologies, intellectual property and scientific know-how. Its areas of interest include climate and energy transition, sustainability and the circular economy, advanced manufacturing, mobility, infrastructure and logistics, security and defence, and longevity.

The investment mandate also covers STEP technologies, including advanced manufacturing and robotics, AI and Physical AI, quantum technologies and materials science. The fund will conduct scouting across Italy while concentrating its investments on companies that have, or plan to develop, an active presence in the Lazio region.

Eureka! Fund II is the successor to Eureka! Fund I – Technology Transfer, which was launched in 2020. The new vehicle extends Eureka! Venture’s technology-transfer strategy into a broader range of science-led and high-technology businesses progressing from research towards industrial and commercial development.
