DOD Solution, an Estonian-Ukrainian defence technology company developing onboard autonomy systems for unmanned platforms, has raised €1.8 million ($2.1 million) in a pre-seed funding round. The financing included Angel One Fund, Better Angle, Defence Builder Fund, Network VC, Newfund, UAID Fund, WildField Ventures and 4C-Next Holding AG, alongside angel investors. Canadian drone technology company Draganfly joined as a strategic investor.
The company develops AURA AI, an onboard autonomy platform designed for unmanned systems operating in environments where GPS or communications may be degraded or unavailable. The technology supports functions including visual navigation, perception, target recognition and tracking, and terminal guidance across platforms such as FPV drones, fixed-wing UAVs and interceptor drones.
DOD Solution was founded in 2023 in Lviv by Ivan Oleksii and Nazar Kravchuk. Roman Hapachylo later joined as a co-founder and currently serves as CEO. Its Estonian parent company, DoD Solution OÜ, is registered in Tallinn, while the company maintains operations in Ukraine.
AURA AI combines onboard computing hardware with the company’s autonomy software stack. DOD Solution says its technology has already been deployed in operational conditions in Ukraine, providing field feedback for further development of the platform. Newfund, which participated in the round, also said the company’s first product has been deployed in operational conditions in Ukraine.
The new capital will be used to advance AURA AI’s capabilities, support product industrialisation, expand integrations with unmanned-system manufacturers and accelerate deployment in Ukraine and international markets.
