Mesa Quantum, a Boulder, Colorado-based quantum sensing startup, has raised $11.8 million in funding led by Playground Global. DCVC and J2 Ventures also participated in the round, which was announced on September 24, 2026.
Co-founded by CEO Sristy Agrawal and CTO Wale Lawal, Mesa Quantum develops chip-scale quantum sensing technology for precision timing, navigation and measurement. Its technology includes chip-scale atomic clocks and a roadmap spanning gyroscopes, magnetometers, gravimeters and accelerometers, with applications in alternative position, navigation and timing systems where GPS signals may be unavailable or disrupted.
The company said the new capital will support final product assembly, system optimization and early deployment of ruggedized quantum timing and navigation systems for defense and commercial customers. The funding will also support an expansion of Mesa Quantum’s operations in New Mexico, including characterization and production-readiness activities and continued collaboration with Sandia National Laboratories.
Mesa Quantum said the round brings its total venture funding to nearly $16 million. The company has also received more than $5 million in non-dilutive awards from US government agencies, including SpaceWERX.
