Dialybrid has raised €15 million in a Series A funding round led by XGEN Venture, with participation from CDP Venture Capital through its Rilancio Fund. The financing will support clinical validation of the company’s Silkothane® Arteriovenous Graft for hemodialysis vascular access and preclinical development of the Silkothane material for other vascular applications.
Founded in August 2020 and headquartered in Cantù, Italy, Dialybrid is a clinical-stage medical device company developing vascular grafts for hemodialysis and other vascular applications. The company is led by founder, president and CEO Francesco Greco.
Dialybrid’s lead product, the Silkothane® Arteriovenous Graft, is based on its proprietary Silkothane material, which combines silk fibroin with polyurethane. The company is developing the graft as a vascular access option for patients undergoing hemodialysis, with the material designed to support tissue remodeling while retaining mechanical stability.
Alongside the financing announcement, Dialybrid said it had completed the first patient implant of the Silkothane Arteriovenous Graft in a first-in-human clinical trial in Italy. The pilot study is enrolling 18 adults across four Italian clinical centres.
