Seattle-based space technology startup Kapta Space announced on October 9, 2026, that it raised $24 million in a Series A funding round led by Washington Harbour Partners and co-led by Bison Ventures. The round also included participation from MetaVC Partners, MYDA Capital, Entrada Ventures, Aurelia Foundry, and Fitz Gate Ventures.
The investment brings Kapta Space’s total funding to $30 million.
Founded in 2023 by Milton Perque, CEO, and Adam Bily, CTO, Kapta Space develops electronically steerable radar payloads for satellite-based intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance, and tracking applications. Its technology is designed to support defense missions and commercial Earth observation.
The company’s radar platform uses a modular Metamaterial Electronically Scanned Array (MESA) architecture. This approach allows radar beams to be steered electronically, enabling wide-area observation and the detection and tracking of moving targets. Kapta is developing the architecture to reduce the cost, power requirements, and manufacturing complexity associated with conventional active electronically scanned array (AESA) systems.
Kapta Space plans to use the Series A proceeds to increase production of its radar payloads and support multiple classified moving target indication (MTI) contracts secured earlier in 2026.
The funding will also support manufacturing expansion, hardware qualification for spaceflight, and preparations for the company’s first orbital demonstration. These activities form part of Kapta’s efforts to develop radar capabilities for satellite-based monitoring and tracking missions.
Previously, Kapta Space announced a $5 million seed round in February 2025, led by MetaVC Partners, with participation from Entrada Ventures and Blue Collective. That financing supported development of its spaceborne radar technology and planned orbital demonstrations.
