Nettle, a UK insurtech developing an AI workspace for commercial insurance loss control, has raised $4.8 million in a Seed round led by MTech. Project A, SVV (Sure Valley Ventures), Portfolio Ventures and Ventures Together also participated. The round brings Nettle’s total funding to $6.8 million following a $2 million pre-seed round in March 2025.

Founded in 2024 by Jack Miller and Katya Kinane, Nettle provides software designed to help commercial insurers assess and manage physical risks. Its platform combines remote risk identification, guided inspections, evidence analysis and report generation within a single workspace.

Nettle says its platform is used by insurers including Allianz and Brotherhood Mutual across Europe, the US and Asia. Initially developed for commercial property, the platform has expanded into insurance lines including liability, construction and workers’ compensation.

The company plans to use the new funding to expand across the US and Europe and grow its engineering and go-to-market teams.
