Notey has closed a $3 million seed round led by Tivoli Ventures and co-led by Malta Venture Capital. The financing includes a $1 million non-dilutive development grant from Malta Enterprise.
Founded in 2022 by Mak Grgić and Adithya Bellathur, Notey develops a music education platform that combines instrument practice with interactive gaming. The platform uses real instruments and voice as game inputs and provides game-based learning experiences designed for use at home and in schools.
Notey is also developing WorldBuilder, an AI-native tool designed to allow users to create customised music-learning game worlds and experiences. The company plans to use the new financing to deepen platform engagement, expand support for additional instruments, develop partnerships, grow its European operation in Malta and hire across engineering, product, design, curriculum, content and school partnerships.
The company said it has reached more than 100,000 users and is being used across 60 schools in four school districts. It is also establishing Malta as a European base for product and engineering, school and conservatory partnerships and distribution.
