SedMed, a Milford, Connecticut-based medical device company, has secured a $4 million investment from 108 BioCapital as part of a financing round led by the firm. The financing was announced on October 1, 2026. The round stage and total size of the financing were not disclosed.
Founded in 2021 by Jeremy Bronen and Timothy Krupski, SedMed develops non-electric mobility products designed to support bathroom safety and independence for older adults and people with limited mobility.
Its flagship product, the SedMed Toilet Lift, attaches to most standard toilets and provides adjustable sit-to-stand assistance without electricity, batteries or bathroom remodeling. The device is designed for use in homes, senior living communities and healthcare settings while reducing physical strain on caregivers.
SedMed plans to use the investment to accelerate commercial expansion, expand its distribution and channel partnerships, advance its intellectual property portfolio and conduct additional hospital-based studies. 108 BioCapital said SedMed’s technology has been adopted across more than 40 hospital systems.
