Tamr, a Cambridge, Massachusetts-based provider of AI-native master data management (MDM) software, has raised $21 million in growth equity financing led by Volition Capital, with participation from existing investors. The company announced the investment on October 14, 2026.
The funding will support product development, expansion of Tamr’s agentic data management capabilities and improvements to its AI and operational infrastructure. The company plans to focus particularly on automated data curation and delivering contextual information to enterprise AI applications.
Founded in 2013 by Michael Stonebraker, Andy Palmer, Ihab Ilyas, Alex Pagan, Daniel Bruckner and George Beskales, Tamr develops software that helps enterprises integrate, clean and manage information distributed across multiple systems. Stonebraker is a recipient of the 2014 ACM A.M. Turing Award, while Palmer currently serves as the company’s chairman.
Tamr’s platform combines machine learning, AI agents and human oversight to identify duplicate records, resolve inconsistencies and create unified datasets. It processes information from customer relationship management (CRM), enterprise resource planning (ERP), procurement systems, data warehouses and data lakes.
The platform supports enterprise data management requirements across insurance, financial services, healthcare, life sciences, manufacturing, technology, retail and higher education.
Led by CEO Anthony Deighton, Tamr has expanded its platform with agentic data curation tools, including Curator Hub, a capability that combines AI agents with human expertise. Other developments include its Bring Your Own Agent architecture, multi-domain data mastering and enterprise knowledge graph functionality.
Tamr reported that its SaaS revenue more than doubled during its previous fiscal year. The company also reported holding 19 patents covering AI and machine learning applications in data mastering, clustering and curation.
The company previously secured $18 million in financing in July 2018, with participation from SBI Investment, Samsung Ventures, Fenox Venture Capital, Alumni Ventures Group, INTAGE Open Innovation Fund and existing investors.
