W4 Games, a Dublin-based company providing enterprise technology and services around the open-source Godot Engine, raised $18 million in a Series B funding round led by Tencent. OSS Capital, Lux Capital, Naval Ravikant and Tobias Lütke’s family office also participated. W4 Games said the round brought its total funding raised to date to $33 million.
The company plans to use the funding to expand its international team by 50%, accelerate development of its enterprise offering and support demand from developers adopting Godot. Alongside the financing, W4 Games signed a multi-year strategic partnership with Tencent focused on expanding its business and supporting the Godot ecosystem in Asia.
