Icelandic HR software company 50skills has raised $6 million in a funding round co-led by Frumtak Ventures, Swiss Post Ventures, Avant and US family office DRD Investments. The financing was announced on September 24, 2026.

The company plans to use the capital to expand hiring across sales, marketing and community, while continuing to invest in its platform and AI agents designed to work alongside HR teams.

Founded in Iceland, 50skills develops software for building and running HR and people workflows across organisations’ existing systems. Its platform combines structured workflows, AI agents and human oversight, allowing HR teams to automate processes while retaining control over steps that require human judgement.

The company offers two core products: Hire, an applicant tracking system, and Journeys, a platform for creating and operating people workflows. Journeys can be used for processes including onboarding, offboarding, employee requests, approvals and other HR operations.

50skills was founded in 2017 and is led by co-founder and CEO Kristján Freyr Kristjánsson. The company is headquartered in Reykjavík and also has an office in Stockholm.

According to 50skills, its customers include Icelandair, Eimskip, Blue Lagoon, Domino’s and Securitas, alongside public-sector organisations including Iceland’s Ministry for Foreign Affairs and the City of Reykjavík. The company also serves customers across the Nordic region and the UK.
