Blog S-Transistors Raises €2.6 Million in Pre-Seed Funding for Superconducting Quantum Control Hardware
S-Transistors has raised €2.6 million in pre-seed funding led by Lifeline Ventures. The Finnish VTT spin-off will use the capital for cryogenic electronics prototypes, a laboratory, pilot manufacturing and team expansion.

Lifeline Ventures led the financing for the Finnish VTT spin-off, which plans to develop cryogenic electronics prototypes, establish a laboratory and build a pilot manufacturing line.

S-Transistors, an Espoo, Finland-based quantum technology startup spun out of VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland, has raised €2.6 million in pre-seed funding. Lifeline Ventures led the round, with participation from an unnamed angel investor.

The startup plans to use the capital to develop prototypes for cryogenic signal control and handling, establish its own cryogenic laboratory, create a pilot manufacturing line for its integrated circuits and expand its team. The financing instrument and company valuation were not disclosed.

S-Transistors is developing integrated circuits based on superconducting transistors for use in cryogenic computing environments. Its initial focus is the control infrastructure used around superconducting quantum processors, where signals currently have to travel between the extremely cold quantum-processing environment and electronics operating at higher temperatures.

The company’s longer-term objective is to develop what it calls a quantum motherboard, with control and interface electronics positioned closer to the quantum processor inside the cryogenic environment. VTT and S-Transistors say the approach could reduce the power and physical wiring required as superconducting quantum systems scale, although those performance and scalability claims have not yet been independently demonstrated at the scale envisioned by the company.

S-Transistors’ first planned product is a superconducting-transistor-based multiplexer designed to integrate with existing cryogenic setups and route signals between quantum devices. The company expects to begin shipping the multiplexer to early customers and strategic partners during its first year of operation. As of the funding announcement, the product had not yet reached broad commercial deployment.

The company is led by Co-Founder and CEO Heorhii Bohuslavskyi and Co-Founder and CTO Andrey Generalov, both of whom previously worked on the technology through VTT. VTT’s LaunchPad materials describe Bohuslavskyi’s background as spanning cryogenic electronics, quantum computing and computing hardware, while Generalov has worked on wafer-scale process development, transistors and superconducting integrated circuits.

S-Transistors emerged from VTT’s spin-off programme in 2026. Its technology is initially aimed at quantum computing, although the company says superconducting-transistor architectures could eventually have applications in energy-efficient classical computing, high-performance computing, AI hardware, spacecraft electronics and particle detectors. Those broader applications remain prospective.

Lifeline Ventures is a Helsinki-based early-stage venture capital firm that invests primarily at the pre-seed and seed stages. The firm is sector-agnostic and has backed companies including Oura, Wolt, Aiven and ICEYE.
