Siena, a New York-based AI customer experience company for consumer brands, has raised $17 million in a Series A round led by York IE. The round also included participation from Joyance Ventures, Aglaé Ventures, Sierra Ventures and Super Angel Fund. The financing brings Siena’s total funding to $29.7 million.

Siena was founded by Andrei Negrau, co-founder and CEO, and Lisa Popovici, co-founder and president. The company builds AI-powered customer experience software that helps consumer brands manage interactions across areas including customer service, shopping and social channels.

Siena is developing what it calls an “Agent of Record”, a shared customer intelligence layer designed to give AI agents and human teams a common understanding of customers across different interactions. The company says its platform is used by hundreds of brands, including SPANX, FIGS, HexClad and Comfrt, and has automated hundreds of millions of customer interactions.

The company plans to use the Series A capital to develop additional autonomous agents and expand the infrastructure supporting customer-facing operations for consumer brands. Siena previously announced a $4.7 million seed financing in November 2023.
