TypeSafe AI, a San Francisco-based artificial intelligence startup, has raised $870 million in Series A funding at a $7.5 billion valuation. The round was led by Andreessen Horowitz, with participation from Sequoia Capital, existing investor DCVC and undisclosed angel investors.
As part of the financing, Martin Casado, general partner at Andreessen Horowitz, joined TypeSafe AI’s board of directors.
Founded in 2024 by Diogo Almeida, Erik Gafni and Sasha Sheng, TypeSafe AI develops machine-native artificial intelligence models designed to operate directly within software applications. Almeida serves as CEO, Gafni as CTO and Sheng as COO.
The company’s first model, Jev, is designed to support automated decision-making in software systems. Unlike conventional large language models that primarily generate natural-language responses, Jev produces structured decisions and probability estimates that developers can integrate into application workflows.
TypeSafe AI said approximately one-third of Fortune 500 companies are using Jev. The company also reported that its technology has helped enterprise customers reduce production costs.
The new capital will support the development of additional machine-native AI models, expansion of its software infrastructure and the introduction of enterprise security and management capabilities. TypeSafe AI also plans to increase engineering and technical hiring.
The Series A follows the company’s $40 million seed funding round led by DCVC, announced on September 15, 2026, when TypeSafe AI emerged from stealth and introduced Jev.
