Ultra Robotics, a Brooklyn, New York-based warehouse automation startup, has raised $50 million in a Series A funding round led by Framework Ventures, with participation from existing investor Y Combinator.
The financing follows a $12 million seed round led by Y Combinator and NextView Ventures, bringing the company’s total funding to $62 million. The funding announcement was made on October 9, 2026.
Founded in 2024 by Jon Miller Schwartz, Max Friefeld, Oliver Ortlieb and Chetan Parthiban, Ultra develops industrial robots that automate repetitive tasks in warehouses and e-commerce fulfillment centers. Schwartz serves as CEO, Friefeld as COO, Ortlieb as CTO and Parthiban as Chief Scientist. The company participated in Y Combinator’s Summer 2024 batch.
Ultra’s primary product, Operator (OP1), is a robotic system designed to handle order packaging, sorting and kitting. The system can be installed at existing warehouse workstations and adapted to different fulfillment workflows.
The company operates through a robotics-as-a-service model. Customers pay an initial integration fee followed by recurring monthly payments covering robotic hardware and software support. This structure allows warehouse operators to deploy automation without purchasing the equipment outright.
Ultra is also expanding its collaboration with AI research company Physical Intelligence, which provides AI models used to control its robots. The arrangement combines Ultra’s robotic hardware and warehouse deployments with Physical Intelligence’s machine learning technology.
According to the company, its robots have processed more than 500,000 orders across US warehouses.
Ultra intends to use the new funding to advance its engineering initiatives and expand commercial deployments of its warehouse automation systems.
