Subeca, a US-based smart water metering technology company, announced approximately $3 million in Series A-2 funding on October 12, 2026. The round was led by Burnt Island Ventures, with participation from Cycle H2O, SUEZ and several additional investors.
Founded in 2016 by Hank McCarrick, Subeca develops hardware and software that enable water utilities and businesses to monitor consumption, manage metering infrastructure and identify potential leaks. McCarrick serves as Founder and Chief Strategy Officer, while Anne Mushow leads the company as Chief Executive Officer.
Subeca’s smart water metering platform combines connected devices with software that provides access to water consumption data. Its technology supports existing water meters and offers connectivity through Amazon Sidewalk, LoRaWAN and Bluetooth, allowing utilities to adopt remote meter monitoring without necessarily replacing their existing infrastructure.
The company said its bundled smart meter and software solution was operating across 23 communities at the time of the announcement. Its communication modules, produced in Cary, North Carolina, use Amazon Sidewalk connectivity to support water infrastructure monitoring and earlier leak detection.
The new capital will support Subeca’s growth and the wider adoption of its metering technology among small and medium-sized utilities, commercial operators and other water infrastructure customers. Cycle H2O’s investment also provides access to industry relationships and potential commercial opportunities through its association with H2O Innovation.
The financing follows Subeca’s $6 million Series A round in 2024, which was led by SUEZ, with additional investment from Burnt Island Ventures and Amazon’s Climate Pledge Fund.
