New York-based fintech startup Ibis has emerged from stealth after closing an undisclosed pre-seed funding round led by FalconX and securing a separate $250 million credit facility from the digital asset prime brokerage.
The pre-seed round included participation from Anchorage Digital and Innovating Capital, alongside executives associated with Erebor, Revolut, Injective Foundation, Agora, Selini, Superstate, Flowdesk, Blockchain.com, DV Chain, Pyth, Colter Lewis and GenCap Management. The amount raised in the pre-seed round was not disclosed.
The $250 million facility will provide institutional credit capacity for eligible cryptocurrency trading firms. It is separate from the startup’s pre-seed investment and is intended to support lending activities through Ibis’s platform.
Founded by Cooper Emmons, who serves as CEO, Ibis is developing an onchain credit platform that connects institutional capital providers with businesses seeking structured financing.
The platform supports credit origination, underwriting, tokenization, risk management and loan servicing. Its infrastructure is designed to help lenders assess borrowers operating in industries where conventional lending models may not adequately accommodate complex risk profiles and evolving forms of collateral.
As part of the financing arrangements, Anchorage Digital Bank, N.A., will serve as Ibis’s custody, banking and design partner. The partnership includes regulated custody arrangements for collateral supporting credit facilities.
Innovating Capital will contribute expertise in private credit, transaction structuring and strategic development, supporting Ibis in designing financing arrangements for institutional borrowers.
Ibis will initially focus on cryptocurrency trading firms and participants in digital asset and prediction markets. The company aims to facilitate access to structured credit for businesses seeking financing beyond traditional lending channels.
Looking ahead, Ibis plans to extend its infrastructure to additional asset managers across emerging sectors, including GPU infrastructure, robotics and venture capital. The company also intends to expand its network of institutional lenders and capital providers as it develops its credit platform.
The October 28, 2026 announcement marked Ibis’s public launch alongside the completion of its pre-seed financing and the establishment of its initial institutional credit facility.
