Rivet, a New York-based dating network operated by MeantToBe, Inc., has raised $10.5 million in seed funding backed by Peak XV Partners, Shine Capital and Blume Ventures. Former Tinder and OkCupid CEO Elie Seidman is also an early investor in the company.

Founded in 2025, Rivet is led by founder and CEO Taru Kapoor, a former Tinder and Match Group executive. The company launched its service nationwide across the United States on September 24, 2026.

Rivet operates a dating model it calls Social Matching. Instead of users relying only on their own profile searches or swipes, people on the platform can act as Matchers, evaluating potential pairs and recommending introductions. Pairs that receive strong Social Matching scores can be introduced, with each individual deciding independently whether to connect.

The financing is intended to support further development and scaling of Rivet’s people-powered dating platform. Rivet is available in the US on iOS and Android.
