The Riyadh-based edtech company plans to use the financing to expand into additional markets and further develop its AI-powered personalised learning technology.
AILA, a Riyadh-based education technology startup, raised $3 million in a pre-Series A funding round announced on August 19, 2026. The round was led by Rua Growth Fund, with participation from Jo Academy, 500 Global, Bunat Ventures and Fikr Ventures.
Jo Academy joined the financing as a strategic investor. The Jordan-based education technology company separately disclosed that it invested $500,000 as part of the $3 million round. The amount invested by the other participants was not publicly disclosed.
Founded in 2023 by Yousef Alsayed, Abdulaziz Bin Mugayel and Nouf Bin Mugayel, AILA develops personalised learning and assessment technology for students, educators and schools. Its official team page currently lists Alsayed as CEO, Abdulaziz Bin Mugayel as CTO and Nouf Bin Mugayel as CPO.
AILA’s products include AILA Tests, which provides adaptive preparation for Saudi national examinations including Qudurat, Tahsili and NAFS, and AILA Labs, its research and development activity focused on applications of artificial intelligence in education. The company also operates AILA Schools, a platform providing personalised learning, assessment and school workflow tools.
The financing follows a $1.15 million pre-seed round in 2024. Based on publicly disclosed rounds reviewed by Bipsiq, AILA has therefore raised at least $4.15 million in disclosed funding. A valuation for the latest round was not disclosed.
AILA said the new capital will be used to support expansion into regional and international markets, further develop its AI capabilities and extend adoption among students, educators, schools and education systems. These remain forward-looking plans rather than completed expansion milestones.
