Matchpoint Therapeutics, a US-based biotechnology company developing precision covalent medicines for autoimmune and inflammatory diseases, announced the closing of a $150 million Series B financing round on October 7, 2026.
The round was co-led by Nextech Invest and Norwest. New investors Invus, BB Biotech, T1D Fund and BOLD Longevity Growth participated alongside existing backers Access Biotechnology, Atlas Venture, Sanofi Ventures and Digitalis Ventures.
Founded in 2021, Matchpoint Therapeutics is headquartered in Watertown, Massachusetts. Its scientific founders include Nathanael Gray and Tinghu Zhang of Stanford University, along with Jianwei Che and Edward Chouchani, who were affiliated with Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Harvard Medical School, respectively, at the company’s launch. The company is led by President and CEO Andre Turenne.
Matchpoint focuses on developing oral small-molecule therapies that use covalent chemistry to target proteins associated with immune-mediated diseases. Its Advanced Covalent Exploration (ACE) platform combines chemoproteomics, computational methods, machine learning and covalent compound libraries to identify and develop potential drug candidates.
The company plans to use the Series B proceeds to advance its lead drug candidate, MPT-062, an oral T-cell modulator targeting autoimmune and inflammatory conditions. Clinical development is expected to begin in 2027, with the financing intended to support progression toward clinical proof-of-concept.
The funding will also support Matchpoint’s broader drug development pipeline and an additional research program backed by Novartis under an agreement signed in July 2025.
As part of the financing, Kanishka Pothula, Managing Partner at Nextech Invest, and Brian Matesic, Principal at Norwest, are expected to join Matchpoint’s Board of Directors.
Matchpoint previously announced $100 million in financing when it emerged publicly in October 2022. That funding comprised a $30 million seed round completed in November 2021 and a $70 million Series A led by Sanofi Ventures.
The latest investment provides Matchpoint with additional capital to pursue clinical development of MPT-062 and continue research into covalent small-molecule treatments for immune-related diseases.
