Spanish energy technology company Linkener has secured €7.5 million in funding led by Klima Energy Transition Fund, with participation from GoHub Ventures. The company will invest in AI-driven energy management technology and pursue strategic acquisitions.

Linkener, a Valencia, Spain-based energy management technology company, has raised €7.5 million in a funding round led by Klima Energy Transition Fund, managed by Alantra. Existing investor GoHub Ventures also participated in the financing.

Founded in 2011, Linkener develops digital solutions that help businesses and organisations monitor energy consumption, manage electricity costs and improve energy efficiency. Its Intelligent Energy Management System (SIGE) combines proprietary remote metering technology, software and data analytics to provide businesses with information about their energy usage.

The platform enables customers to monitor electricity consumption, digitise and validate energy bills, analyse supply contracts and receive alerts and recommendations for potential cost savings. Linkener also provides engineering services covering solar photovoltaic installations and battery storage systems.

The company plans to use the new funding to develop its proprietary technology and artificial intelligence models for energy management. These developments will focus on automating energy data processing, identifying billing anomalies, analysing consumption patterns and improving contract optimisation. Linkener also intends to pursue acquisitions of complementary technology and service businesses to expand its capabilities.

Led by CEO José Ignacio Ruiz, Linkener serves more than 2,000 customers across 10,000 energy supply points and manages approximately 1.7 terawatt-hours of energy consumption annually. The company has also completed more than 400 solar photovoltaic and battery storage projects across Spain, according to Alantra.

The investment represents the 11th portfolio investment of Klima I, a €210 million energy transition fund backed by Alantra and Enagás. The fund invests in businesses developing technologies and services for the energy transition.
