DataHow, a Zurich-based bioprocess technology company, has closed a bridge financing round extending its Series A. Existing investor Momenta led the financing, with continued participation from Rockwell Automation, HINA Bioventures and Zürcher Kantonalbank.

Founded in 2017 out of research at ETH Zurich, DataHow is led by co-founders Alessandro Butté, Michael Sokolov and Fabian Feidl. The company develops DataHowLab, a software platform that combines bioprocess knowledge with data-driven AI and hybrid modelling to support biopharmaceutical process development and manufacturing.

The new capital will support three areas of DataHowLab’s development: real-time connectivity with laboratory and production systems, model-driven process control, and expansion from upstream into downstream bioprocessing.

DataHow said the expansion is intended to move its technology further into real-time manufacturing environments, providing process engineers with modelling, analysis and decision-support capabilities across bioprocess development and production.
