Voxela, a Fremont, California-based senior care technology startup, has closed a Series A financing round led by Delight Ventures. The company said its total funding since inception now stands at approximately $13.2 million. The size of the Series A round and the company’s valuation were not disclosed.
Sompo Growth Partners, the venture arm of Sompo Group, joined the round as a new investor alongside Happiness Capital and Blue Heron Ventures. Existing investors Archetype Ventures and ALL STAR SAAS FUND also participated.
Founded in Silicon Valley in February 2022, Voxela develops VCare, a vision AI platform for senior care and long-term care facilities. The company was founded by Yuta Endo, Goutham Kamath and Yusuke Yoshida, who serve as CEO, CTO and COO, respectively.
VCare analyzes video from standard network cameras to support care facility operations. The platform can generate draft incident reports from video footage, compile incident data to show where and when events have occurred, and support camera-based resident check-ins. It also provides functions including wake-up, bed-exit and presence detection.
Voxela plans to use the new capital to expand hiring, particularly across AI and product engineering, and further develop AI capabilities that automate documentation, reporting and related administrative work. The company also plans to expand deployments in Japan and build its commercial operations in the United States.
