IT’SUGAR has secured an $8 million senior secured revolving credit facility from Second Avenue Capital Partners, an asset-based lender focused on retail and consumer businesses. The facility will support the specialty candy retailer’s working-capital requirements and provide additional liquidity for growth across existing and new sales channels.
Founded in 2006 by Jeff Rubin, IT’SUGAR operates more than 100 locations across the United States and Canada. The company sells confectionery, novelty products and licensed merchandise through its physical stores and e-commerce business, and has also expanded into wholesale distribution.
IT’SUGAR is part of BBX Capital’s BBX Sweet Holdings portfolio. BBX Sweet Holdings initially invested in the retailer in 2017 and later acquired the remaining equity interest, making IT’SUGAR a wholly owned subsidiary.
The new lending relationship with Second Avenue Capital Partners gives IT’SUGAR additional financing capacity as it manages inventory and pursues growth across its retail, e-commerce and wholesale operations.
