Tel Aviv-based High Lander has secured an additional $16 million, bringing its total funding to $30 million. The financing will support US expansion, development of its autonomous aviation platforms and growth in defense and homeland security applications.

High Lander, an Israeli company developing software for autonomous aviation, drone fleet operations and airspace management, has secured an additional $16 million in financing, bringing its total funding to $30 million. The latest investment, reported as an extension of its Series A round, includes additional strategic backing from UAE-based EDGE Group and participation from STEP, Protego and Kinetica.

Founded in 2018 and headquartered in Tel Aviv, High Lander is led by founder and CEO Alon Abelson and co-founder and CTO Adam Kraif. The company develops software infrastructure that enables organizations to manage unmanned aircraft operations, coordinate drone fleets and monitor low-altitude airspace.

Its technology portfolio includes three platforms:

  • Vega UTM, an unmanned traffic management platform designed to coordinate uncrewed aircraft operations across complex airspace environments.
  • Orion DFM, a drone fleet management platform that enables organizations to remotely operate fleets and manage autonomous missions.
  • Andromeda, an AI-powered airspace security platform that integrates information from multiple detection systems into a unified operational picture.

Andromeda uses a hardware-agnostic architecture to combine data from sensors and other systems supplied by different manufacturers. The platform is designed to support aircraft detection, classification, tracking and coordinated operational responses, including distinguishing authorized drone activity from unidentified aircraft.

High Lander plans to use the financing to expand its operations in the United States and other international markets, advance the development of its three software platforms and extend its capabilities into defense, homeland security and dual-use applications.

The investment also expands High Lander’s existing relationship with EDGE Group, which previously made a $14 million strategic investment in the company in January 2023. The participation of STEP, Protego and Kinetica adds investors with connections to the autonomous systems and defense technology sectors.
