New York-based Delegance Brokerage has raised $3.1 million in a pre-seed funding round led by Grit Capital Partners, with participation from Core VC, Gilgamesh Ventures, and Outside VC. The company provides AI-powered commercial insurance brokerage services designed to automate insurance placement and policy management for businesses.
Founded by Alexander Ledbetter, who serves as CEO, Delegance Brokerage offers a commercial insurance platform that enables businesses to obtain quotes, manage policies, generate certificates of insurance, request endorsements, and track claims. Its AI agent, Orin, answers coverage-related questions using customers’ existing insurance policies, while licensed brokers handle complex placements and coverage decisions.
The platform supports more than 4,000 business classifications and over 36 types of commercial insurance coverage, including general liability, workers’ compensation, property, commercial auto, cyber liability, and professional liability. Delegance operates on a disclosed 5% brokerage fee model, compared with traditional commissions that the company says typically range from 15% to 25%.
Delegance Brokerage is licensed in 51 jurisdictions and has direct appointments with 25 insurance carriers, including Chubb, Travelers, and The Hartford. The company also reported securing more than $26 million in insurance premium commitments for 2026.
The new funding will support the recruitment of additional licensed insurance brokers and engineers, alongside the expansion of relationships with banks, private equity firms, and software platforms. Delegance serves businesses across construction, commercial real estate, e-commerce, healthcare, and professional services.
