F2, a New York City-based AI company building an agentic operating system for institutional credit, has received a $5 million strategic investment from private credit manager Golub Capital as part of a broader partnership between the companies. Golub Capital will also deploy F2’s technology and AI capabilities across its investment processes.
F2 develops software for private credit managers, banks and other financial institutions. Its platform connects financial models, data rooms, investment memos, credit files and third-party data within a unified intelligence layer, then applies AI agents across deal screening, underwriting, portfolio management and other investment workflows. The platform uses an LLM-agnostic architecture designed to allow institutions to work with different AI models without rebuilding their core workflows.
F2 launched as an independent company in September 2025 after spinning out of Arc Technologies, alongside a $10 million equity round backed by investors including NFX, Left Lane Capital and Y Combinator. Co-founder and CEO Don Muir leads the company.
In June 2026, F2 raised a $14 million seed round led by HighlandX, with participation from Left Lane Capital, NFX, Y Combinator and Torch Capital. The company said the financing brought its total equity funding at that time to $24 million.
The partnership with Golub Capital also includes plans for an invitation-only AI council bringing together senior executives from private markets institutions. David Golub, co-CEO of Golub Capital, will serve as its inaugural chair, with founding members expected to be announced in the coming months.
