OMass Therapeutics, an Oxford, UK-based biotechnology company developing small-molecule medicines for endocrine and immunological diseases, announced a $310 million (£230 million) Series C financing round on October 15, 2026. The round was co-led by new investors Bain Capital Life Sciences, Forbion and Novo Holdings.
The financing also attracted participation from Janus Henderson Investors, SV Health Investors and Jefferson Life Sciences. Existing investors Syncona, Oxford Science Enterprises, GV, Northpond Ventures, Sanofi Ventures, British Business Bank and the University of Oxford also participated.
Founded in 2016 as a University of Oxford spinout, OMass Therapeutics was established by Professor Dame Carol Robinson, Idlir Liko, Jonathan Hopper and Hsin-Yung (Jason) Yen. The company builds on research in native mass spectrometry to discover and develop medicines targeting complex biological systems.
OMass uses its proprietary OdyssION drug discovery platform, which combines native mass spectrometry, biochemical techniques and specialised chemistry to study proteins and their interactions. The technology supports the identification and development of small-molecule drug candidates against targets that have been difficult to address using conventional drug discovery approaches.
The company plans to use the Series C proceeds to advance its lead drug candidate, OMS1620, an investigational melanocortin-2 (MC2) receptor antagonist, through Phase 2 clinical development for congenital adrenal hyperplasia (CAH) and ACTH-dependent Cushing’s syndrome.
The financing will also support OMass’s immunology pipeline, including work to generate initial clinical data for an SLC15A4 inhibitor being developed for lupus and other diseases associated with excessive interferon production and abnormal B-cell activation.
As part of the financing, Evan Greif of Bain Capital Life Sciences and Audrey Cacaly of Forbion will join the company’s board of directors. Max Klement of Novo Holdings and Ali Jazayeri of SV Health Investors will take board observer positions.
Led by Chief Executive Officer Ros Deegan, OMass previously raised $100 million (£75.5 million) in a Series B financing round announced in April 2022. That round was led by GV, Northpond Ventures and Sanofi Ventures, with participation from Syncona, Oxford Science Enterprises and the University of Oxford.
The latest financing provides capital for OMass to progress its clinical development programmes in endocrinology and immunology while continuing research across its small-molecule therapeutics pipeline.
