San Jose, California-based Opsin, a cybersecurity startup developing an AI governance and security platform, raised $21 million in funding led by SYN Ventures and Race Capital. The funding will support further development of its platform for monitoring and managing security risks associated with enterprise AI agents.
Founded in 2024 by James Pham, Oz Wasserman, and Jeremy Mailen, Opsin provides security software that helps organizations oversee AI agents deployed across business applications and enterprise data systems. Pham serves as CEO, Wasserman as Chief Product Officer, and Mailen as Chief Technology Officer.
The platform supports enterprise AI environments including Microsoft Copilot, Claude, ChatGPT Enterprise, and Google Gemini. It enables security teams to identify AI agents, assess their permissions and data access, monitor activity, and detect behavior that falls outside an agent’s intended purpose.
Opsin’s Risk Graph technology connects agent intent, user identity, permissions, data access, and activity to help organizations identify security risks and determine appropriate controls. The platform is designed to address issues such as excessive access privileges, sensitive data exposure, and unauthorized agent actions.
According to the company, Opsin serves nearly 20 enterprise customers, including Culligan, Barry-Wehmiller, Wellstar Health System, and UiPath. Its customers operate across healthcare, financial services, manufacturing, and other regulated industries.
Opsin previously announced a $7 million seed funding round in April 2025, led by Race Capital, with participation from CapitalX, Lockstep Ventures, and angel investors from the cybersecurity and enterprise software sectors.
The latest funding will support Opsin’s plans to expand its security platform as enterprises deploy AI agents across more applications, workflows, and business systems.
