New Delhi-based Banaraswala has secured $2 million in seed funding from Prax Impex Private Limited. The regional food brand plans to expand its company-owned and franchise restaurant network to 50 outlets by March 2027.

Banaraswala, a New Delhi-based food service startup specialising in traditional Banarasi cuisine, has raised $2 million in seed funding from Prax Impex Private Limited. The investment will support the company’s expansion into new markets, development of additional menu offerings and growth of its quick-service restaurant (QSR) network across India.

Founded by Vibhanshu Mishra, Banaraswala operates under the brand identity Ghat Se Ghar Tak. The company focuses on bringing the traditional food culture of Varanasi to consumers through a restaurant format offering regional sweets, chaats and meals.

Its dining concept incorporates traditional serving materials, including kulhads, pattal and clay utensils, reflecting the culinary practices associated with Banaras. The company also serves customers through major online food delivery platforms.

At the time of the funding announcement, Banaraswala operated three outlets across Delhi. The company plans to expand into Banswara in Rajasthan, Sarangpur in Gujarat, and Farrukhabad and Fatehpur in Uttar Pradesh, with these market entries scheduled for October and November 2026.

Banaraswala is targeting 50 outlets by March 2027, focusing on Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi-NCR and other Tier 2 markets. Its expansion strategy combines company-owned restaurants with franchise-operated locations.

The new capital will also support menu innovation, product development and improvements to operational processes as Banaraswala prepares to serve additional markets.

The funding is intended to help the company establish a larger restaurant network while maintaining its focus on traditional Banarasi recipes and regional food offerings.
