RxActuator Mini-Infuser wearable veterinary medical device designed for continuous medication delivery in animals.
Raleigh-based RxActuator has secured undisclosed seed funding from Waypoint Ventures to expand its wearable Mini-Infuser technology, manufacturing capacity, and veterinary clinic adoption.

RxActuator, a Raleigh, North Carolina-based veterinary medical device company, has secured a seed investment from Waypoint Ventures to support the commercial expansion of its wearable drug infusion technology. The funding amount was not disclosed.

The investment, announced on October 15, 2026, anchors the company’s seed funding round and will support wider adoption of its Mini-Infuser device among veterinary clinics.

Operating as Journey Actuating Technologies, Inc., RxActuator is a veteran-owned company led by founder and CEO Jeff Journey, a former US Air Force officer.

The company’s Mini-Infuser is a wearable, non-powered continuous-rate infusion (CRI) device designed to deliver medication beneath an animal’s skin over 48 hours. It allows veterinary patients considered stable enough for discharge to continue prescribed infusion treatments at home without remaining connected to conventional hospital infusion equipment.

Veterinarians can use the device for postoperative care, chronic pain management, hospice and palliative care, antibiotic administration, and other treatments requiring continuous medication delivery.

Journey Actuating Technologies acquired the Mini-Infuser technology and associated assets in early 2026 before commercially relaunching the product under the RxActuator brand on October 1, 2026.

According to the company, more than 500 devices have been used by over 90 veterinary clinics across three countries, with repeat customers accounting for most of the volume reported.

RxActuator plans to use the investment to expand manufacturing capacity, strengthen commercial operations, increase veterinary clinic adoption, and develop treatment protocols for additional veterinary specialties.

The company also intends to advance intelligent infusion technology designed to connect medication delivery with clinical treatment outcomes.
