Marklo, a US-based AI-powered marketing platform for Shopify brands, has raised $5 million in seed funding led by Forerunner, with participation from Freestyle Capital and angel investors, including current Shopify and former Klaviyo executives. The funding announcement on October 14, 2026, coincided with the opening of the company’s public beta.
Founded in 2025 by Jessica Herrin, Marklo is headquartered in Burlingame, California. Herrin previously founded Stella & Dot, a direct-to-consumer retail business. Marklo develops software designed to help e-commerce marketing teams analyse business performance, identify promotional opportunities and coordinate campaigns across multiple channels.
The platform combines sales information, inventory records, previous campaign performance and external market signals to recommend marketing activities. It also prepares campaign calendars, creative briefs and related tasks for marketers to review and approve.
Marklo integrates with e-commerce and marketing services including Shopify, Klaviyo, Attentive, Meta and Google, alongside collaboration and creative tools such as Slack, Canva and Figma. These integrations allow marketing teams to work with product information, promotions and campaign results within a shared planning system.
According to Herrin, more than 100 brands participated in Marklo’s pilot programme. The company has named Away, Clare V., Monica + Andy, Maya Brenner and Latico Leathers among brands using its platform.
The newly announced public beta expands access to the platform ahead of the holiday retail season. Marklo plans to deploy the funding towards hiring across product and engineering, further product development, expansion of its beta programme, and customer success and community initiatives.
