Umia branding for the onchain platform that raised $6 million through its UMIA token auction.
Umia raised $6 million through a seven-day auction of its UMIA token. Galaxy Ventures, DCG, Draper Associates and other funds participated alongside nearly 700 individual bidders.

Umia, a New York-based onchain platform for launching, funding and governing token-native projects, raised $6 million through an auction of its UMIA token. Ten funds and nearly 700 individual bidders participated in the seven-day sale on Base. Participating funds included Galaxy Ventures, Digital Currency Group (DCG), Draper Associates, RenGen, Alpha EV, Maven 11 and Eon Capital.

The auction ran from August 26 to September 2, 2026. Umia offered 17.3 million UMIA tokens, representing 34.6% of the token’s total supply. The auction had a $2 million minimum raise and closed at a clearing price of $0.36 per token, with tokens purchased through the auction becoming fully liquid at close.

Umia was co-founded by Francesco Mosterts, its CEO, and Nicolas Racchi, its CTO. The platform combines a legal wrapper, token issuance, a non-custodial treasury and onchain decision markets. Projects launched through Umia place their intellectual property, operating team and treasury within a single legal structure, while certain strategic and treasury decisions are governed through decision markets.

Umia was incubated by Chainbound, an Ethereum research and development company. Mosterts previously worked at Point72, while Racchi has worked on DeFi protocols and Ethereum infrastructure.

Umia’s first decision market went live in September and considered how to deploy $4.77 million of treasury USDC into lending protocols on Base. The selected strategy allocated capital to Aave and Steakhouse.
