ScribeUp, a Los Angeles-based fintech company providing AI-powered recurring bill management solutions for financial institutions, has secured $13 million in Series A financing led by Curql, with participation from Mucker Capital and Service Ventures.

The financing comprises $10 million in equity investment and a $3 million venture debt facility. The company plans to use the capital to expand its AI-powered financial intelligence and automated bill management capabilities, strengthen its team and support go-to-market initiatives.

Co-founded by Jordan Mackler and Yohei Oka, ScribeUp develops embedded financial technology that enables banks, credit unions, fintech companies and neobanks to offer recurring bill management within their existing digital banking applications. Mackler serves as CEO, while Oka is CTO.

The platform combines recurring payment information with banking data, including account balances, cash flow and payment schedules. Consumers can identify and monitor subscriptions and other recurring expenses, including utilities, insurance, rent and loan payments.

Its technology also enables users to take actions such as canceling subscriptions, updating payment methods and exploring savings opportunities directly through their financial institution’s application.

According to the company, ScribeUp works with more than 60 financial institutions. Its platform uses AI-driven automation to help consumers manage recurring financial obligations while allowing financial institutions to integrate those capabilities into their digital services.

ScribeUp previously raised $3 million in seed funding from Mucker Capital in August 2023. That investment supported the development of its subscription management technology and additional tools for monitoring and controlling recurring payments.
